Die Frist für den Open Call ist leider am 23.01.2026 abgelaufen.
Von Do 1. bis Mo 4. Oktober 2026 steigt zum fünften Mal das re:festival – ein einzigartiges Format mit Fokus auf Wiederaufnahmen ausgewählter Produktionen der freien darstellenden Künste. Da in der Tafelhalle das Dach saniert wird, bietet uns das Künstlerhaus im KunstKulturQuartier mit seinen Sälen einen Ausweichspielort. Geplant ist ein knackiges Programm aus Wiederaufnahmen, Workshops, Talks u. v. m. – Dafür brauchen wir Eure Vorschläge!
Ab sofort und bis Fr 23. Januar 2026 könnt Ihr uns über das Formular unten Eure Einreichungen inklusive Portfolios (obligatorisch inkl. Link zu einem Komplettmitschnitt, Pressematerial), Technical Rider und Kostenplänen für eine Vorstellung (orientiert an Honoraruntergrenzen) zusenden.
2026 steht das re:festival unter dem Motto MONSTRÖS: Mittelalterliche Fastnachtsspiele, romantische Schauergeschichten, dystopische Science-Fiction – seit jeher bevölkern transzendente Figuren Erzählungen und Mythen, die unsere Sehnsüchte, Ängste und Machtfantasien formen. Mal warnen sie, mal verführen sie, mal werden sie selbst zu Opfern jener Kräfte, die sie hervorgebracht haben. Ihre Geschichten dienen oft dazu, Grenzen zu ziehen, Menschen kleinzuhalten, Vielfalt zu disziplinieren und gesellschaftliche Ordnungen zu verfestigen. Und das wirklich Gefährliche zeigt sich selten im Übernatürlichen, sondern im zutiefst Menschlichen – dort, wo Ideologien Empathie ersetzen, wo Abwertung normalisiert und Wirklichkeit verformt wird. Welche Ordnungen, welche Ängste, welche Wünsche werden durch das Monströse erklärt – oder erzeugt? Wie menschlich sind Monster und wie monströs können Menschen handeln? Wen macht eine Gesellschaft zum „Wesen“ – und warum? Und wie viel Macht und Manipulationspotenzial liegt in den Geschichten, die bestimmen, wer als fremd, gefährlich oder unkontrollierbar gilt?
Wir freuen uns über Einreichungen bestehender Arbeiten aus zeitgenössischem Tanz, Theater, Performance, die das Monströse in all seinen Formen beleuchten, öffnen, verdrehen oder neu erzählen – als Spiegel, als Störung, als Befragung dessen, was wir für menschlich halten.
Kriterien:
- freie darstellende Kunst (Tanz, Theater, Performance)
- von hauptberuflich künstlerisch freischaffend Tätigen
(professionellen) Solokünstler*innen oder Kollektiven aus Deutschland - keine ausschließlichen Onlineprojekte
- gastspieltauglich und wiederaufnahmefähig
- inhaltliche Anbindung an das Motto „MONSTRÖS“
- Produktionen, deren Premiere spätestens 2022 oder vorher gefeiert wurde:
keine Neuproduktionen für das Festival!
Die Bewerbungen werden von einer Jury aus Förder*innen, Künstler*innen und dem Team der Tafelhalle ausgewertet. Aus den Einreichungen werden mindestens zwei Produktionen eingeladen.

The deadline for this open call ended already on January 23rd 2026.
From Thursday 1 to Monday 4 October 2026, re:festival will take place for the fifth time – a unique format focusing on reruns of selected productions from the independent performing arts. As the roof of the Tafelhalle is being renovated, the Künstlerhaus in the KunstKulturQuartier is offering us its halls as an alternative venue. We are planning a packed programme of reruns, workshops, talks and much more – and we need your suggestions!
From now until Friday, 23 January 2026, you can send us your submissions, including portfolios (a link to a complete recording and press material are mandatory), technical riders and cost plans for a performance (based on minimum fees) using the form below.
In 2026, the re:festival will be held under the motto MONSTROUS: Medieval carnival plays, romantic horror stories, dystopian science fiction – transcendent figures have always populated stories and myths that shape our desires, fears and fantasies of power. Sometimes they warn us, sometimes they seduce us, sometimes they themselves become victims of the forces that created them. Their stories often serve to draw boundaries, keep people down, discipline diversity and reinforce social orders. And the truly dangerous rarely manifests itself in the supernatural, but in the deeply human – where ideologies replace empathy, where devaluation is normalised, and reality is distorted. What orders, what fears, what desires are explained – or created – by the monstrous? How human are monsters and how monstrous can humans act? Who does a society turn into a ‘creature’ – and why? And how much power and potential for manipulation lies in the stories that determine who is considered foreign, dangerous or uncontrollable?
We welcome submissions of existing works from contemporary dance, theatre and performance that illuminate, open up, twist or retell the monstrous in all its forms – as a mirror, as a disturbance, as a questioning of what we consider human.
Criteria:
- Independent performing arts (dance, theater, performance) from Germany
- by full-time artistic freelancers
- professional solo artists or collectives
- no exclusively online projects
- Suitable for guest performances and re-acceptable
- Content connection to the festival motto “Over the Rainbow”
- Productions that premiered at latest in 2022 or prior:
no new productions for the festival!
The applications are evaluated by a jury made up of sponsors, artists and the Tafelhalle team. At least two productions will be invited.
