Jam Spoon

A spoon that keeps memories alive. It doesn't matter what's eaten with this spoon, since it's always engraved within the fruits of memories.
The cutlery was made based on the childhood memories of a friend of mine. As a child she loved her grandmother's house, the raspberry jam and a piece of cutlery, all reminding her of the beautiful days.
Her grandmother had raspberry bushes in her garden, which she used to make homemade-jam from. My friend remembers all this with grave nostalgia.
I wondered how i could recreate those memories with designing a piece of cutlery. I designed a spoon that would remind us every time, when being used, as the memories are engraved as raspberries. The existence of the fruit inside the spoon, making us feel its presence every time our mouth touches them.
As a result of placing the fruits and making the spoon half full, i limited its function to have more dedication to remembrance, to the concept.
The unusual weight of the spoon towards the fruits is noticeable and it is a representation of the weight and power of memories.
